The most epic BCL debate ever.

But silly developer retconning aside, it was totally a book. *Lights fuse, runs*

Guys, you were watching this scene with your feet.  It was clearly Ruri she was holding, whispering to her that there'd be a remake of some kind and that's what sent her over the edge.

Why even play these games if you're going to be so silly about it, god.

maybe we should ask shibata so we can know once and for all

Pfft. We dont need Shibata for crap. Someone with modding techs who can do a camera/angle mod for that scene should look into that scene and see what's behind that screen. If it's just a shadow and nothing is behind there at that time frame then let imaginations run wild like we should!

You can't camera hack a pre-rendered cutscene.

It's an FMV, so yes.  Shibata and Kikuchi are the only ones we can ask about it because they made the game.

Sneaky sneaky... they did that on purpose. They knew fans would get curious... until summer of 2012 that it got explained.

Or maybe they could only achieve the effect they wanted by rendering it themselves.  Doesn't really matter, we'd be curious either way.  : >

Nah, nothing special like filters were going on during that scene. They just wanted to keep it a secret.

Hi ^^. I might be able to do that, but only if it's a rendered (3D, ingame, whatever to call it) scene and not an FMV, because then it's 100% impossible to change anything about it since it's just a pre-recorded movie that's being played.

I'm pretty sure that scene is an FMV, it looks better than your usual cutscenes I think. Look here: http://www.youtube.c...R0Mj7O5QQ#t=51s

Can't someone find an answer to this? Since I've seen others do 3D manipulation, couldn't someone look and see what's behind the screen?

I'm not sure how that all works.

not sure if they still have the 3D model animation file for that but since I have the mediocre knowledge of 3D, our friend has this answer to your question.

but to me, I doubt they have that stored because there may be some FMVs only being kept inside atm.

a 3D animation file of the completely rendered models should have the accessibility for us to see what item, which was held in Mayu's hands, was being modeled. But let's just hope that it's not an FMV. You already know why. XD

It is an FMV; it's one of the cutscenes that you can watch without sound in the .bin file on the disc, like the intro, the endings and other FMVs.
