Strobe lighting and the scent of musty old books rises from within the fog...
midwinter : (07 October 2018 - 03:32 PM) I heard the rumour about Suda51 too
midwinter : (07 October 2018 - 03:33 PM) I have my doubts that he'd work on another Fatal Frame game, it sounds like FF4 was chaos and he doesn't really do horror anyway
Emi : (07 October 2018 - 03:47 PM) *nods* Yeah
Emi : (07 October 2018 - 03:55 PM) ugh... Okay. Well, I got the keycaptcha in, but it isn't working.

Yashuu : (07 October 2018 - 07:01 PM) he had that interview too where he said he didnt like how shibata tries to recreate real ghost experiences, so i doubt he'd return  :icon_fallenwoman:
Yashuu : (07 October 2018 - 07:01 PM) i'd like him to though, ff4 was >>>
Yashuu : (07 October 2018 - 08:24 PM) a mess but still >>>>
Emi : (07 October 2018 - 09:29 PM) True. There were parts of 4 that I thought were really cool.
Cursed Lemon : (08 October 2018 - 01:29 AM) FF4 was awesome in terms of lore and atmosphere.
ItsukiFace : (08 October 2018 - 07:50 PM) Something ultra wicked, this way comes.
ナガクラ : (09 October 2018 - 06:08 AM) I like the atmosphere of 4
Butterflychaser : (09 October 2018 - 02:16 PM) 4 really was the bees knees. Managed to stray from several elements of the original series whilst retaining the overall feel
Emi : (09 October 2018 - 04:05 PM) agreed. I really loved the playable character twist too.
Chou : (09 October 2018 - 04:13 PM) 4 has honestly taken the top spot from 2 for me, as my #1 fave
Chou : (09 October 2018 - 04:14 PM) Also i like that the bot account is Baymax hahaha
ItsukiFace : (11 October 2018 - 02:53 AM) Hi, Chou. It's nice to see you here. ☺️

What's the reason film is always conveniently scattered around?

I know this is very nitpicky, but has anyone ever thought about this? I know it's done because the games are designed around various fim-types having limit uses, so it's important to allow the player to restock on film, but for the sake of immersion, what do you think could be the reason? Taking FF1 as an example, I guess the white kimono girl could have left them for Miku to find or somehing? But that doesn't really explain where all the film came from...

Regarding the film and herbs laying around, either a thief arrived at the location before you, but had a hole in his bag that he never noticed, and just kept dropping supplies for you everywhere, or the residents, back when they were still alive, dropped them by accident because they were in a hurry.

As for the supplies you find in drawers, people like to keep spares lying around. You would never regret forgetting where you put your medicine or your extra camera film, if you put bits of it in all of your drawers, instead of storing it all in one place, right? ;-)

On a serious note, I have no idea, that's the sorta things I never think about.

Idk it's interesting

Is the film used a special type of film? If so how do these people have it? If its just regular film how does it work with the camera?

I think, canonly the best explanation for it is that the film is created and left for you by friendly spirits

But how would that be possible? We have seen cases of spirits opening doors and being in possession of weapons and torches, but there is no evidence to suggest that they can carry "physical" objects from our plane of existence, like film or herbs........on the other hand some ghosts DO leave keys or notebooks behind, so there goes my argument xD Now how does THAT work???

Maybe for 1 & 2 the film there was dropped by those who previously went into the house/village? (Mafuyu and the folklorist (it's been so long I forgot his name sorry)) and then for 3, because it's a dream I guess there doesn't need to be a reality based explanation? As for 4 & 5....your guess is as good as mine

3 being a dream would also excuse why, upon every "revisit", all type 14 film and herbs are found in the same places.

Yeah and I guess because in every game you're transported to a place that's somehat outside reality, I guess that explains why the film has its excorcising powers
