Mio's a Remaining now, right? Remainings usually have white hair after the ritual. How did Mio retained her hair color?

I've got a theory! I think it's been around since 2 came out, but here's my thoughts: only unsuccessful Remainings have their hair turn white. We see it in Itsuki, Kureha, possibly Ryokan (if his failed, it might be why he's so insistent with his daughters' ceremony?), and the Osaka twins in 3. The Zero Comic Anthology shows us the Osakas' ritual was successful, but it hasn't explicitly been made canon, and wasn't written by the developers themselves.
So, why would it turn white? Well, during the ritual, the twins merge together as one person. You could theoretically say a part of Mayu is still alive in Mio after her death, for example. But if the twins don't merge, one half of that whole actually dies, represented in the living half receiving white hair, symbolising how a part of them has died.
Or it's totally random and related to the trauma.

This post makes me chuckle because I recall there being a "Mio's Hair" topic in one of the older forums.
I like Hex's theory! I never thought of it that way but that would be amazing if that was the case.
Yes, I was also the original poster of that in the previous forum. It was actually a sticky one, with lots of debates. I can't find it here so I decided to post it again.
I agree with Hex's latter theory. I think it is only in-game trauma induced.
