Strobe lighting and the scent of musty old books rises from within the fog...
GregZerO : (13 February 2018 - 12:34 AM) Just finished Before the storm and I loved the third episode,I think its my favorite from the prequel.Got to say though that the final choice wasn't as hard as in the original, still memorable and made you think about life but guess i wanted to cry again
Hex : (13 February 2018 - 10:15 AM) Aw, glad you enjoyed it.  The more I think about it, it's probably my least favourite and was quite disappointing, but it had some good moments.
Hex : (13 February 2018 - 10:18 AM) I was the opposite, I didn't hesitate at the end of S1, but needed around 15 minutes for BTS's last choice.

Hex : (13 February 2018 - 10:29 AM) And then the after credits scene came along and I died inside. :nonom:

Hex : (13 February 2018 - 02:07 PM) Good reasoning!  It definitely made me weigh the different options like you said.

GregZerO : (13 February 2018 - 03:35 PM) ^The only reason why I accept these motives is because he was an asshole in his whole life,I can easily imagine getting so much money and success with bad ways,he loved R. ofcourse but that didnt change that fcat that he could be a bad person in general reacting wrong/bad again in a more personal/family related problem
GregZerO : (13 February 2018 - 03:36 PM) (i mean i can imagine him being an asshole in his life in general, its not confirmed anywhere)

Mr Johnny : (16 February 2018 - 02:41 PM) Beyond comprehension.

I've been thinking about this since I played the fifth one and I didn't remember if there was already a topic for it or not.

They mentioned that Rei kind of used it on Reika in the end of the third one, but haven't they kind of been doing that since the first one? One of the characters touches something (or someone) and they see something spooky.

It wasn't really something new was it? Or am I missing something?

It wasn’t something new but it wasn’t part of the gameplay until the Fatal Frame 5

Pretty much what Kenshin said.  The context is a little different though; before they were just visions given to psychic people, now it's a kind of soul-reading you can do to soothe the dying.

It's a bit different between the two though.  Sometimes it isn't used to soothe at all which implies they are two different things.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply they're the same.  Visions were always a thing but now there's different kinds.

I think there are a few things in the series like this. They have a few instances in the earlier games, but become an actual game "mechanic" in the later games. For example, in the first two games there are a few parts where a cutscene will show the character slowly opening a cupboard/door/curtain and then a ghost/jumpscare happens. Then in the wii versions it becomes a mechanic to "peek" in certain spots and sometimes it's nothing and sometimes there's a ghost.
