Strobe lighting and the scent of musty old books rises from within the fog...
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:07 PM) Momodora is a doujin-game-series from japan, they're all done in a metroidvania-style. some are more linear than others.
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:08 PM) The current one (Momodora: Reveries under the moonlight) is, regarding tone, atmosphere and gameplay, kind of a mash-up of castlevania, metroid and souls-like games, especially the gothic style of bloodborne.
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:09 PM) It's not a perfect gme by any means but I had a lot of fun with it.
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:09 PM) *game
Kouta Koikawa : (18 June 2017 - 04:12 PM) Alright, I see. I like the Metroidvania concept and the gothic style. I'm actually pretty interested in the new game from the former Castlevania developers. Ritual of Blood or whatever it's called. The trailer looked pretty awesome. It's like Symphony of the Night but better looking.
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:13 PM) Bloodstained: Ritual of the night. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, too.
Kouta Koikawa : (18 June 2017 - 04:16 PM) Yes, that's the name. Looks good. It's like those old Castlevania games. Shame that Konami gave up on Castlevania and Silent Hill too. They used to be such a great developer.
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:24 PM) Yeah, used to. I didn't like the LoS-Castlevanias anyway, so it's not too bad for me.
Kouta Koikawa : (18 June 2017 - 04:32 PM) LoS was decent but I disliked the gameplay rhythm. It was like God of War. You either fight or do platforming. I like how in old Castlevania games you do both at the same time. This is present even in games like Castlevania 64 but LoS removed that element.
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:38 PM) Castlevania 64 is in my opinion much better than people say. It is, in fact, my favourite 3D castlevania.
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:39 PM) LoS would have been decent if it weren't called "Castlevania".
Eisenalex : (18 June 2017 - 04:39 PM) I'll have to go now. See you!
Kouta Koikawa : (18 June 2017 - 04:43 PM) Sure, see you around!
Kouta Koikawa : (18 June 2017 - 04:45 PM) And I agree about Castlevania 64. For the most part it's how a 3D Castlevania should be.
Rheo : (22 June 2017 - 05:46 PM) I agree with the Castlevania 64 part XD
Rheo : (22 June 2017 - 05:47 PM) Also looking forward to Bloodstained :3
Eisenalex : (22 June 2017 - 08:01 PM) I think a lot of hate towards Castlevania 64 stems from people blindly believing the AVGN-Video about it without having played it themselves.
Cursed Lemon : (23 June 2017 - 08:10 AM) Ehh, the controls for the N64 Castlevania games are some of the worst I've experienced in games that are supposed to be high production value. The soundtracks, however, blow other Castlevania games clear out of the water.
Rheo : (24 June 2017 - 05:10 AM) Well yeah, that's why o.o My bf said it's one of the worst because of the controls. Even though I'm 50-50 about it. It's just that I was fine with it all along until then :<
Rheo : (24 June 2017 - 05:11 AM) Sometimes it wasn't good for me too lol

Oh my god, this place has a Falling Woman emote. Yeah, I'll be sticking around here for a while... *puts his feet up*

Aaaaaaaaaaaanywho, hi. I'm me. I'm awesome, but I'll let you guys decide on that for yourselves. I make my living modifying arcade fightsticks (I basically make arcade fightsticks work for non-stock systems) and I stream full-time when I'm not working at a Fighting Game Tournament. I live in Wisconsin now but I consider Austin, TX home. That's it for the boring stuff.

As for Fatal Frame, I bought the original on PS2 the day it came out after being engrossed by the game after seeing a trailer for it in front of my local Babbage's. I played it until the Broken Neck scared the absolute piss out of me and it took me until... well, last week to get the courage to beat the game.

Well, now I'm hooked. I've beaten 2 and 3 (just finished 3 about an hour ago) and I just adore the lore, Miku, the ghosts, Miku, the wonderful atmosphere of the games, and (of course) Miku.  :icon_ff3miku:

So yeah, my stream viewers have basically demanded that I start playing the game more regularly. so I'm trying to learn as much about the games as I can so i can stream them on a regular basis. Lore streams, Q&As, In-depth story playthroughs, speedruns, whole shebang. I'm not going to hawk my channel all over the site, no worries. Gotta put my dues in first (and play 4 and 5), so I figured this was a great place to start with that! It's really nice finding a community with such a strong love for the series, so I'm sure we'll all get along well!

Welcome!! This is a great community to find knowledge of all things Fatal Frame and i'm sure every one of us has a nifty fact or two (eight, twenty-three... fifty?) to share.
I'm excited to see a streamer who plans to play the series regularly and share the love for the games! Too many times I see someone stream one maybe two games and then just move on D: So just let us know when and I bet a few of us will drop in to help out :)

Yeah I'll be sure to do that!

For now I have to finish the games I've already got on my schedule, but once I'm done with that I'm planning on at least streaming the games once, maybe twice a month. Maybe Friday nights? I thought Fatal Fridays was a cute name.

Anywho, I've got enough content for a while, considering I've still got to finish Nightmare and Mission modes for 1-3. For now I just want to dig around here and get to know the community better first and gather as much info as I can. I took notes on the three games so far and I'd like to see if I can find more stuff on them.

So who designed all these adorable emotes? Been wanting some FF-themed emotes to use with my stream.

Very belated welcome! Hope you'll have fun here. ^_^ The Fatal Frame emotes were designed by the site owner Emi! (Except the Yashuu, Maya and Woman in Black, which I made using her work as a template, so if those aren't quite as good you'll know why.) Tengai has kind of become our mascot. :icon_tengai:

Okay, so now that I've actually lurked for a few months and, as of today, have beaten all five of the core titles (and if it's fine with the admins/mods!), I'm ready to start promoting my stream!

Right now I only stream FF titles on Sundays, but I'm planning on maybe doing one week every month or two to focus on different titles since 3-5 are just SO freakin' long and packed with lore. I'm also planning on doing regular speedruns of FF1 and would love to eventually take the WR time.

Anywho, here's the link!

I'd really love to see more of the Fatal Frame fanbase in there, especially as I start doing more in-depth lore/story playthroughs!

This sounds really cool (belated welcome!), I'll try to be there for Sunday.  Which game will you be playing?

I'm actually kind of embarrassed but I won't be playing this Sunday because of a work schedule conflict.  <_<

But no worries! I'll be playing all day Monday! I've not spent enough time with FF2 yet, so I may do that. Ghost lists, mission mode, or nightmare. I'll figure something out.
