Butterflychaser : (12 April 2018 - 11:53 PM) I agree- I much prefer the pre 4 set out of the games, though it's probably nostalgia in my personal case
Butterflychaser : (12 April 2018 - 11:53 PM) Oh well, I'm just glad the series is still alive and this forum is too...kinda. It's nice coming here from time to time
PikaLink91 : (13 April 2018 - 07:27 AM) I had honestly hoped for a bit more activity, oh well, guess I am just late to the party...
Hex : (19 April 2018 - 08:04 PM) Will anyone be replaying 4 for its 10th anniversary in July?   :icon_ruka:
PikaLink91 : (19 April 2018 - 09:21 PM) I was actually thinking about replaying it tonight. Is my favorite afterall.
midwinter : (19 April 2018 - 09:54 PM) I'll definitely be doing that at some point - I still need to get proper quality costume images for the wiki
Butterflychaser : (22 April 2018 - 02:55 PM) I will be!
EternalSinger : (29 April 2018 - 06:54 PM) I will be! Much excitement.

GregZerO : (07 May 2018 - 09:52 PM) my first impressissions is that RE7 is great
GregZerO : (07 May 2018 - 09:54 PM) was afraid that it might feel a bit too much outlast
GregZerO : (07 May 2018 - 09:54 PM) (and i didnt enjoy outlast 2 at all)
GregZerO : (07 May 2018 - 09:55 PM) but its great,feels like i'm playng REmake/REZero
GregZerO : (07 May 2018 - 09:57 PM) i m pretty early in the game though, but i enjoy it a lot
Chou : (17 May 2018 - 04:14 PM) Speaking of FF4, I had to redo my patch for the translation for my Wii... And started it up from scratch. I think I had only made it halfway through before
Chou : (18 May 2018 - 02:10 PM) I can't believe it's been 10 years!  For the anniversary, do we want to start a thread for everyone wanting to play through and relive the nostalgia? (or play through the first time because i never completed it before, haha :x )
midwinter : (18 May 2018 - 04:39 PM) that would be a good idea!

A Japanese online gaming magazine has just posted a new (and very long) interview with Makoto Shibata and Keiichiro Toyama, creator of Siren!

They talk about Japanese horror games and the future of the genre, buuuut it's all in Japanese so I'm going to be spending the day with Google Translate while praying for Homuranagi's return. :eyelashes: They do mention VR a bit at the end - how does that make you feel, Fatal Framers?

Aside from the interview, if you click the blue link at the bottom, it'll take you straight to part of the original proposal document for FF1, from June 2001, which is really cool to see! The camera viewfinder obviously underwent a lot of changes before the final version, and some of the environments look different too.

It must be a really interesting interview,I can't wait to read it!I am super happy that Toyama talks about horror again, that means that there is a new Siren in the works(or something similar).

Also both of them holding the first games of the series I hope it means that the future of horror is going back to the roots or something.I also wonder if there is a collaboration between the two creators, well that would be awsome, probably for a new project,I love both FF & Siren but I don't think that their worlds fit together.I wouldn't say no to some easter eggs though,ok that went to far..........ehmm okay.

About the VR,it surely looks cool and fits perfectly for horror games but it s too damn expensive right now and I don't rally want them to spend money and build it around VR in exchange of a better story, side quests, new modes blah blah so yh but Viewfider could be really scary with VR for sure.

Anyway I hope that in this interview we will get a hint or two for the next Fatal Frame and Siren.

I can't wait to read it :>

I'm hoping this means they'll go back to their roots and will build awesome and scary stories around those games. Also I hope this means there will be more Fatal Frames in future ;>

The VR would be nice add to the Fatal Frame series, as long as they still put effort to the story and such things (like GreekShadow pointed out).

I think VR would cost less in the future, so I don't think that would be problem when new Fatal Frame game would get released.

I liked 1st-person view in FF2, so I really love the idea of VR version -- what if you could only see ghosts trough the Camera Obscura? Or you'd need  to hide from the "boss ghost" like in FF3 when you played as Kei and had to hide from Reika but with way better graphics and overall making those kind of  things better? :0 All the possibilities *A*

VR means nothing to me since I'm poor and will never have enough money to blow on it anyway, lol. So it doesn't mean much to me. I don't even really want it in horror games that much, because first person horror was never anything I liked. Fatal Frame was enjoyable because you could toggle it, AND it made the combat all the more terrifying, but you weren't stuck in it for the whole game.

I am interested in seeing the interview, though!

Oh wow, Shibata and Toyama being interviewed together  :o Forbidden Frame is coming!

But yeah, I'd really love to read this. The VR mentions are interesting, I've tried VR horror in the form of Dead Secret on Gear VR and it's really great, I wonder what they're saying about it.

i will jiggle into your soul

Don't you know, guys, that Toyama and Shibata are friends, sort of (depends on what you define as a 'friend'), or at least they know each other for a long time.

I'm sorry, I still don't have time even to look through their intreview, I'm pretty sure I'll be absolutely free by the end of next week.

Hope this means something good for the Fatal Frame series as well as the Siren series.  I would love both of these franchises to go back to their roots and make new games in their respective series in the same style as the originals of both franchises.
